just wondering cause i'm coming across the whole "too good to be true" syndrome.

wife is getting bike in a divorce, selling it excessively cheap including shipping and handling from vermont (i live in iowa....speaking of which, why the hell was it posted in iowa territory if they are in vermont). and when i mean cheap, we are talking R6 for like sub $4k in excellent condition.

says it comes with a clear title etc. etc.

only does secure payment crap through ebay.

Anyone go through with this or should i just write it off as a scam?

Ummmm, that one has been around for a looooong time.

    Craigslist rules to remember...

    1. If it seems too good to be true, it is.
    2. NEVER do a deal where you can't go see the thing in person.
    3. Nigerians are some rich mofos
    4. Cash in hand with a signed bill of sale AND the title only.
    5. Never trust anyone.

That has scam written all over it.

Send a email to them saying you'll be there tomorrow to look at the bike and see what they say. lol

Don't be a sucker. There a plenty of good deals to be had on craigslist. None of them involve shipping and handling.

That is a scam, no doubt. I received that same sort of email several times when I was searching for a bike on criagslist.
The general rule is that if they don't list their phone number on their post, then they are most likely a scammer.
While craigslist does have a lot of scammers, there are a lot of great deals on there. Just keep searching.
I bought my own bike off of it.

I bought my bike from Craigslist. But I went and saw it in person, had a friend with lots of riding experience take it for a test ride, and then I paid cash, took the title in hand, and my buddy rode it home for me. This is the ONLY way to buy off of CL.
