Anyone else not watching as much TV?

Discussion in 'Entertainment' started by amusingenigma, Jul 28, 2004.

  1. The last couple of years I've watched less & less TV

I remember having a show on each night of the week that I "had" to watch.

Then it got down to just a few nights a week.

Last year it was only 2 nights. I might sit & watch if someone had something interesting on, but more often than not I'd end up walking away.

I have no idea what shows are starting up, but I don't think there is a single show I want to watch returning (except maybe American Idol, this was the first year I watched... I got hooked by Simon's evilness :o)

Anyone else having this "problem" as well?

There's nothing good on anymore... Plus, I've been spending more and more time online than watching tv these days.

  3. I suppose the computer might have something to do with it... although I always used to watch while surfing/chatting/ect on-line.

    :dunno:

Yeah, I have noticed that. When I was little, my day revolved around the TV.

I think the quality of TV has really gone downhill, but then again it could just be growing up. Plus, the internet occupys a lot of my time now.

  6. I do know, for the most part, I don't enjoy TV as much as I did when I was younger :dunno:

I do still watch the machine itself a lot though-I'll toss a movie in the DVD player. It's not a time thing with me I think.

I hardly watch tv anymore. There are just a few shows that I watch regularly now. For the most part, I have the tv on for background noise so it's not so quiet in my house.

TV is so inferior to computer stuff. The only thing Tv has on cpu/internet is the comfort of sitting on a couch while watching it.

I don't watch any broadcast TV and there are only a couple of shows on cable I watch. Other than that, it's movies on cable and Adult Swim for Family Guy and Futurama.

It's getting to the point where I have no tolerance for commercials.

There really isn't much to watch anymore. The glut of reality shows has driven the quality of programming way down. I would kill for a new sitcom that can match the quality of Seinfeld or Friends. I find myself watching a lot of old shows that are in syndication rather than the crap that they keep rolling out on network tv. :squint:

I really only watch a few hours a week. I try to catch the Simpsons or Adult Swim, if I'm around and I have nothing to do.. which is really never anymore

all i watch on tv anymore is hockey games, so for summer i never really watch anything but nip tuck. sick show

  20. I find myself buying more & more of the shows I remember loving on DVD rather than trying to find something new to watch. Half the DVD's I own are TV shows rather than movies. I'll pick out random eppisodes to watch instead of channel surfing.

Yes, I used to watch alot of television, but lately i dont watch it much at all. I do tend to keep it on for background noise when i'm not listening to music while surfing the net.
I do watch a lot of DVD's and I watch a few shows on "HBO on demand" every monday.
