I've been using my comp on the battery lately when fooling around the house, and recently its begun shutting off randomly, 3 times when the battery reads at roughly 35% and this past time at 49%. I Figured it might be because the batt hasnt been run down to 0% in a month or two (usually used plugged in) and i couldnt even get the comp past 30% to recalibrate it, it kept shutting off.

    any ideas?

EDIT: Just did it again, i let it charge up to about 70% and it died this time at 37%

What kind of notebook is it? MacBook or a MacBook Pro?

    If so:

Download Battery Update 1.2, check to see what your battery cycle count is under System Profiler, if under 300 call AppleCare. Even if you are out of warranty, there is a chance the battery will be replaced.
