Anyone else have superstitious habits that revolve around the gym?

    for example:
    I always feel like i workout better if I take a dump first. Luckily, I can go right before I head to the gym.
    Spicy food for lunch fucks me up and makes me squirrly at the gym.
    I cant eat for about 2-3 hours before the gym.

    I'm real anal about symmetry, things being in their place. resting between sets, I'll walk around and rearrange plates on racks if they're out of order, reorganize dumbbells on the rack to consecutive order, etc. Real OCD type shit. And it bugs the everliving fuck out me when people leave dumbbells, collars, plates, etc. just sitting out in the middle of the floor for others to trip over :mad:

    thats not a habit-you're just trying to keep "your home" clean!

    and that shit definately pisses me off- I love when people do shrugs right in front of the dumbbells so u can't grab anything off the rack.

    i constantly shuffle my music on my mp3. I have to have a certain song for each set.

    Dont know if its a superstition, but I never look anyone in the eyes. I always stare down so no one will engage in conversation with me

    i forgot about that one-
    i get into certain phases, and i can only listen to certain songs sometimes for sets

    I always try to line the holes on the plates up for some reason. We have the big plates with the 3 holes in them, and I always line it up.

    oh yeah i forgot when i bench, i use a clamp, and they have to be parallel to the floor, then i lie on the bench and can lift...

    The bench has to be paralell or perpundicular to the beams on the ceiling or it throws me off, bad.

    kinda why i can't lift on one of the benches, since they are all bolted down.

    When not doing anything, ill usually get water at the farthest fountain.

    Usually i take a dump/piss before i work out, so that isnt a problem.

    I think drinking an energy drink while working out, gives me pumps :mamoru:

    I drank diet turbo tea for about two years- i forgot a bottle the other day and my energy level and strengthwere better!!

    just water for me now!

    My gym has all kinds of different brand plates. I feel better knowing that I have the same brand of plates on both sides.

    I try to always have the same brand of plates on both sides at my school gym. Also I love using chalk for everything, even on bench and such where it doesnt serve much of a purpouse at all. I like to take a series of short breaths before every set, which are usually quite loud since I have headpohones on. Sometime I get extremely pumped up and pissed off before doing a set and that point everything compltely escapes my head I go cazy (my friend even told my that I crossed my eyes while benching once). :o :wtc:
