It's pretty much awful, but you gotta do what you gotta do.

Typically it's 1 hour, but I take a 2 hour lunch and stay later.

if you can get away /w 2 hour lunch, that doens't sound like a bad idea.

you get to sit around the rest of the day and recover anyway. Come night time, you can even go for a jog or something if you feel like it.

Does not sound too bad if the gym is near and you have a 2 hour lunch.

I still think I'd have trouble getting in a workout, shower, and meal in with a 2 hours break though.

I can see how it would be effective though. Use coffee to get you through the first half of the day, and the adrenaline of the gym to get you through the second half. Plus, you can eat a meal after training and snack on shit the rest of your work day to keep a solid nutrient flow and rest.

I don't have enough time for a shower, which sucks especially on leg day. The other aspect that sucks is that for the 1-2 hours following I am extremely lethargic.

If I couldn't shower and worked in an office setting there is no way I could do that. Putting a suit on and sitting in an office feeling all dirty and grimy would drive me nuts.

i did this for 2 years. I loved it. The gym is 2 blocks away from my work. I'd take an 90 minute lunch and stay later. It does motivate you to keep rest between sets to a min. and keeps you focused. Plus if you have a bad day at work it really helps de-stress. <---This was prolly the best benefit for me :hs:

I do we have a gym at work that has the full nautilus stations, 3 treadmills, 2 ellipticals, 4 bikes, a couple of stairclimbers, and DBs up to 80lbs. Overall, I try to do the best workout I can with of what I have.

I like to eat lunch on my lunch break. I just go to the gym after work for two hours.

Why don't you just go after work? Or take a shorter lunch and leave early so you have time after work?

Probably because you don't have to fight every stupid fucking Guido and their brother for the bench or squat rack if you go during lunch. Nor do you have to battle the cardio bunnies for time on the eliptical/stairmaster/treadmill.
That's the reason I used to go during lunch when I could. SOOO much easier to get in, do what you need to do and get out.

Hmm. I'm glad I dont have that problem at my gym.

Nobody trains legs so the squat rack is always open. I go usually 5-7 pm and it's about as busy as it is from 11-1.

Sign me up for your gym!! It's packed like a tin of sardines during that time at mine. Granted it's a big commercial gym but that's all there is around here.
