My girlfriend and I got up to my family's land in Chester, Tx around 4:30 Saturday....shot a doe at 5:30. Bought my .308 so I could make longer shots, but the first deer I kill with it is a 50 yard shot:rofl:

rifle, bow, slug, dog drive, still hunt, etc. if its for deer, its opened here on august 15th. a lot of guys (redneckish IMO) will take off of work every 8/15 to go hunting.

    Not true.

Some counties have different dates; traditionally, in the majority of counties here in SC, bow season opens 15-30 days early. IIRC, in Kershaw County (my county), bow opens Aug. 15 and rifle on Sept. 1st. Or, it could be bow Aug. 1st and rifle on the 15th.

Anyhow, the point is not everything starts the same in most counties.

    BTW, hello neighbor. :wavey:

I've seen worse too (my friend killed a doe by shooting it up the ass with a bow :ugh: ) but a neck shot is never really a guaranteed kill.
