I built this gun from parts I ordered off of the internet. The only thing I had to get from a dealer was the lower reciever. Probably cost me about $500.00, without the sight. Works great! Any of you guys ever try this? How'd it come out? Thinking about building an AK next. :rl:

i've got 2 DPMS stripped lowers sitting in front of me that have been begging to be built for the past 6 months.

probably going to start on one of them sometime soon.

one is going to become an M4gery with a CMMG MOD-4 upper. the other is going to be a target/varmint rifle with a white oak armament match upper with wilson barrel.

ar15.com tells you how to build it step by step

I am building one right now, just getting parts together. I have bought an Eagle Arms lower, armalite lower parts kit, M4 stock, and a couple mags, still need to get an upper, was thinking of going for an 11.5" barrel

    is that a pre-ban one?

we have 2, one carbine and one regular and theyre great. fairly easy to dissameble - keep in mind that since they are for combat use they are designed to be easily/quicky taken apart. after seeing someone do it a couple times (and/or reading about it) you shouldnt have too hard of a time doing it yourself.

I've built two and my friends have built quite a few more. First I built was an 11.5" CAR type upper on a PWA receiver with a 4 position telestock. It ran fine but was a little picky on mags. Second I built was a 20" hbar on another PWA. It worked fine too.

Friends built another 11.5" and a 10.5" and neither of them ran for shit. They were absolutely horrible. They ended up opening the gas port on the barrel a tiny bit, and they started running fine. The same friends also built a couple of target-barreled, flat top varmint rifles, a 20" and a 16". They run fine too.

I will never build another one. I am still not a huge fan of the rifle to begin with. Troubleshooting all those builds, especially the first few, was a total pain in the ass. I still don't completely trust the homebuilt rifles. My factory Bushmaster has worked flawlessly (knock on wood).

Yep and we need to outlaw guns soon too. That way we can outlaw those nasty fireworks launchers like that guy in your av is holding :o

My next one won't be much of a build but I have a us property marked RRA lower coming w/ 2 stage NM trigger and 6 pos stock. And I've been eyeballing the RRA DEA upper.

I built mine, except for the lower. I took a complete Bushmaster Lower, and slapped a Vltor Carbine Modstock and a Magpul MIAD grip on it. The upper is a CMT flattop, with a Bushmaster bolt and carrier, LMT rear sight, CMMG 16" 1/7 M4 barrel, Troy Ind. MRF-C, AAC QD flash hider, Tango Down Rail panels and forward grip, and Surefire M962SU06. I think that covers everything on that rifle. Oh, and a KAC railmount side-sling swivel with a V-Tac sling.

I have a RRA stripped lower, a 4-position stock, a CMT flattop upper and a CMMG 16" 1/7 Midlength barrel waiting to be built up.

I pinned the upper and lower together myself, does that count?

Stag Lower, with CMMG MOD4 upper, LaBelle magazine, EOtech sight.

i hate the way people put so much shit all over their guns. function over form, i suppose.

i just don't see the function of having 4 rails and a foregrip. i could hold my AR just fine in factory trim w/o a foregrip.

Its just personal preference. I personally like having a vert grip, I can line up a lot faster on a target with it.

Ah, but you see, the difference between me and the mall ninja is that I know how to use my gear, and I don't pretend to be a mall ninja. Also, I have to know how the stuff works, because I run the customer service for a manufacturer. I tell people straight up that I just like the gear, and knowing how to use it. I'm a guitar salesman, and in a couple or three weeks, the National Registry will tell me if I'm an EMT as well. But I will sell the shit out of some tactical nylon, so I have to know how the stuff performs.
