Make data dvds and play em off a DivX Dvd Player and watch them on a TV or a Projector?

the only problem i have with a TV is that the TV (36") cuts off the subs

so i have to resort to the projector

I do that sometimes. :dunno: But like you said, only certain resolutions will fit on the TV so that the subtitles don't get cut off.

I run the AVIs through a resize filter in VirtualDub to add my own letterboxing, then I convert them to MPEG @ 7000 kbps and author them on DVD.

I've done all episodes of Bleach this way, for a total of 17 discs. :o

Some series are giving me major trouble. Like Fate/Stay Night. VirtualDub doesn't like the VBR audio track on those files so it gets all f'd up with my normal process. :wtc: I haven't been able to figure out how to get it to work yet.

DO NOT BUY DUAL LAYER DVDS, they cost too much. 2 blank dvd-r's will still cost less than 1 dvd9
go to supermediastore.com and buy yourself some taiyo yuden dvd-r

    100dvds for about 23$

best dvds out there (for me) and fully JDM

not that fake taiwan stuff, i've only gotten coasters when burning taiyo yudens when i'm listening to winamp and using bittorrent at the same time :mamoru:
    now i know better

and buy an NEC 3250 or the 3550 like sito has they all work great

You know 500 GB will eventually run out.

If you don't mind burning shit to DVD at 4 GB a pop, then you'll have unlimited removable storage space. :dunno:

Go with the burner, get a cd portfolio and you're set, you can get that same 500gb worth of space with a single 100pk spindle + the cost of the burner(which isnt very much at all anymore). I have friends that have several external hdd's im still using the burner that came with my laptop and stashin the DVDs in their little sleeves.

I ordered nec 3550 dvd burner with 100dvds for $70 total. it'll be here on monday.

I decided to buy dvd burner instead new HDD cause my external 160gb HDD is about to run out of space. It's full of animes. :o

I thought it'd be better just to burn all my favorite animes on dvds and watch them whenever/anywhere. that way i'll have more room for new animes on my external HDD :bigthumb:
