I'm going to have to setup an appointment to do this so I can fully contract into AROTC. I really hope I pass because I need to get an astham waiver. I'm so worried I might be sick on the day of the test and it fucks up the results. What's really stupid was I thought I had asthma because I had an inhaler but no doctor ever diagnosed me for asthma so I'm trying to get a waiver for something I may not even have.

I feel a little better now. I've been attending ROTC classes without a scholarship for some time so I really hope I can contract because if I don't make it I'll end up working for nothing. I can't wait to get into the Army.

:werd: me too. I left my inhaler at home, got to reception and tried to get one at the TMC and they made me take a Pulmonary Function Test. All they had me do was run a 10:30 mile and check my O2 levels and I had to blow into a tube that checks breathing or some shit.

Yep that's what I'll do. I can pass the PT test just fine and my grades are good.

Yeah it bothers me. I'm sure you can do the PT tests and your duties just fine too but they are going by old rules that were set a long time ago. I really had to push hard just to get the chance to do this test.

Update: I did the pulmonary function test and I had no problems at all. Hopefully my remedial will be approved and I will get a waiver. Then I hope they will let me join the nursing program through ROTC. Then I can go to LTC. I am already qualified for everything but I'm just waiting on that waiver.

Good luck. I really hope you don't get sick on that day. If you don't use an inhaler at all then you should be good.

It's a fairly new test for asthma. They have you breathe in some chemical and then they have you exercise on a treadmill for a bit. After that they have you breathe into a tube to see your lung capacity. I've heard the Army does this to people who fail the function test but I've heard that people who don't have asthma have trouble passing it sometimes.
