I really love 1911's. Every one I've shot I'm fairly accurate with on my first try, the build quality always seems higher, etc. I'm eyeballing the hell out of the DW PM7. I've searched countless forums and have read great reviews about it.

I'm currently toting around an XD9SC which is obviously smaller but holds 10+1. The PM7 would be 7+1 and is (duh) a bit bigger. My build conceals the XD pretty well, not so sure how I'd do with a 1911.

Just trying to get some feedback here. I'm not even sure I'd switch out the XD for the DW as a carry, but it seems the reasons I want one makes it a better choice for daily duty.

I know a few guys that carry 1911's. Full size, and the compact ones.

Best advice would be to just do it. Maybe wear a little bit heavier clothing to conceal and maybe ween back on the clothing when you become more comfortable.

And just because you can shoot a 1911 fairly accurately with your first shot, keep going to the range with it. A lot.

Without saying ;), all I was getting across is that a 1911 just feels so much more natural to shoot for me than any Glock/XD/etc has thus far.

You can't buy a PM-7, because I want one. And don't you dare order the last one from Bud's.

I carry 2... 3 inch kimbers (not at the same time) Well sometimes I have both one sits in the car while i wear the other. I added crimson trace grips to my RCP since it has trench sites.... im not a fan of lasers but in this case since i use it at work a laser is a good idea.

ultra CDP II and ultra RCP II

Pics, cuz everyone loves pics. :big grin:

I also have a UC2 and I like it a lot. I have a friend who carries a full size colt with no trouble, everywhere, all the time. His build supports it too which helps. I couldnt' conceal a full size but an officers' probably.

Oh, and nice pics. Did you swap out some parts on that black one or just go to hacking on stuff like the old guys used to? Or is that the way that model comes...?

edit: nevermind, I did some research. Those are HAWT! I would really like to have a slide that doesn't have sight machining so I coudl mill it like that.

I daily carry my 5" SA all day everyday. The biggest downside is the weight of the bastard... and the few rounds you get to bring along for the ride. But other than that its great. They are really slim so they don't outline too much on your day-to-day clothing. And I have big hands so anything smaller than the compact just wouldn't feel right in my hands.

I have a full size 1911 and I can't see myself using it as my concealed carry, too heavy imo. But I've never handled a compact so I can't speak for those.

Why you say that? I carry because I own a stripclub at I have to carry the deposits to the bank nightly.... otherwise I wouldn't need to carry. Nothing like carrying $XXXXXX at 2am and having to walk to the night deposit. Nice thing is its very quiet near the bank at that time.

I have pretty large hands I think... I dont mind shooting the compacts, but I prefer my fullsize kimber. I know alot of people dont like Kimber, but I have 7000 plus rounds through my fullsize and its great no problems at all. My CDPII has a few 100 through it without issues, I haven't shot my RCP yet because its been too damn cold lately.... -30 air, -55ish with wind.

Ya its how i buy alot of things! LOL I should say I have one partner, in the club. I also do graphic design by day... but I mostly work with another sign company. He liked my designs so he asked me to make some signs and vehicle wraps for him so I said sure.... turned out to be a good living so why not do both. But now I work 10 to 14 hrs 6 days a week. :(

I used to love going to clubs when I was in college, but I'd say most of our girls are nasty... i'll straight up admit that. We get a few now and then that are 8s and 9s, but by ot standards they'd still be 5s LOL. But the oil riggers and farmers dont care, I always say variety is key.

Its a small club, we did alot of the work ourselves to save money... nice thing is we own it, we paid cash for everything so we dont have any loans which is nice. if you wanna check it out www.myspace.com/envyminot I should make a "real" website but I haven't had time.

I want a scandium framed CCO with a bobtail. Would settle for a scandium framed bobtail commander, though I'd likely replace the S&W slide.

Scandium seems like a cheaper titanium to me. I likes.
