in the middle of the back of your waist?

I think that's where I want to carry..I'm just gonna pick up a left IWB holster so I can grab it easily, palm out wiht my strong arm (right hand)

Thats how I want to carry, but I can't find an IWB holster around town that lets me draw with my right hand, they area all left handed.I keep mine on my 4:30-5:00, sits pretty well, but I usually wear a jacket or something thick over cause if I sit down with just a shirt it gets exposed pretty easily

I'd think that a lefty iwb, put in the center of your back would be easy to draw with your right hand..i need one for my back because my waste is small and its hard to cover it up when viewed from the side if i have it on my hip

I tried it once just to try it, wasn't a big fan, as I don't like things on my back. When I'm in uniform, I don't have anything on the back of my belt. Just not my thing :dunno:

I was reading an article somewhere on this not long ago. The gist of the article was that this is a bad idea. A firearm can create enough force to cause a spinal injury if you are forced back hard against something or fall down.

There are also other safety issues, such as the muzzle crossing your body when you draw.

i think 6:00 would be uncomfortable as hell. however, 4:00 ftw.

I always thought SOB was cool, until I actually tried it. Try sitting down in a car with it. Even removing the weapon from the holster, the holster alone is uncomfortable.

I'm a lefty, so 7:30 - 8:30 for me. I fell asleep on the couch with my Steyr on, once. It's comfortable.

Also, the 6 o'clock position is often refered to as the SOB (Small of Back).

If you're right handed and going to carry sob, right handed holsters are the "proper" way, its alot more natural and quicker of a motion than turning the back of your hand against your back. Personally it sounds uncomfortable and dangerous, 3 o'clock for me.

Wear dark shirts, wear patterned shirts, but its probably not printing near as bad as you think unless you have a bad belt or holster.

Then you shouldn't wear a holster on your waist. The belt is more important than the holster for comfort and concealment. It helps hold the gun to your body, keeps your pants from sagging, and spreads the weight out.

The only problem with a pocket holster is a 5 shot snub revolver is about the biggest most people easily in their pocket, and most people want to carry a large caliber and more rounds. Do you have a particular gun in mind already?

For good belts check out http://www.thebeltman.net/products.htm My favorite carry setup is a beltman belt and an alessi pch holster. I can carry a sig p226 under a tshirt easy with it. You might go through a few holsters before you find one you really love, but a good quality belt is more important than the holster I think.

Well pocket holsters are cheap enough you can try it for $15, but I think thats far too huge for pocket and needs to go in your waist band. A decent holster with some cant to it at 3-4 should be pretty nice.

i agree. you better have some pretty big pockets and hope you dont need the gun in a hurry to pull it out of a pocket then pull it out of a holster
