Not yet... tempted. With the price hike though, an iMac is looking more likely. I think for a home theatre, it wouldn't be too bad though
I got a core solo last weekend. I've been pretty impressed so far, but I still feel a little inferior when I use my girlfriends iMac 2.0 core duo
i think i'm picking up one this summer...
replace the 747 take off sounding pc i have...i don't do anything intensive at home anymore, i got a work computer for that, so a mini would be perfect...
i was going to get one on the 18th or whenever they premiered...then i saw the price increase and no dvr...i'll wait till i hate my pc
I've got a demo unit coming my way in a few days. I asked for the single core model to see if our dual-core image will work with it (I don't see any reason why it wouldn't).
I'm so divided on buying one. I'm still hung up on the shared video memory as a major drawback and I wish they'd introduced more new features.
I was close to buying one the day they were announced. A new mini would be great in my home theater, but since there is no DVR I passed. I'd be surprised if they ever offer DVR capabilities since they probably think it would hurt their iTunes TV show sales.
anyone has experience with the core duo vs core solo?
I was playing around w/ the core duo mac mini at an apple store today thinking about getting one, not a bad little system. I splurged and got the 2.0 iMac instead
why not just eyetv and a box?
I've got a 1.83GHz MacBook Pro and a 1.66MHz Core Duo Mac Mini
How much memory in the Mini? Have you noticed any problems with the video performance?
yeah actually ive noticed that the video performance is definately worse than the old mini becaues of the integrated GMA graphics... kidn of a shame, but I only use it for web browsing in the living room, so its OK for me.
I have a G4 mini and just got a core solo mini.
Main reason to go core solo is the fact you can buy a duo and more ram down the road and upgrade. The video card on the G4 was definatly alot better, the new intel video card just doesnt look as crisp side by side, and not as fluid in movies I feel. But front row and the remote are cool as shit.
Great little Unix box for $599 and that is all I do on it anyways is write perl and such...
