I'm sick of this fucking country, sick of the people, and would like to see my family more than once every year and a half. Looks like an easy job with lots of plus's.... anyone done it or heard good/bad shit about it?

Quite possibly one of the toughest jobs in the military right now.

Imagine being behind enemy lines, surrounded on all sides by hostile forces, with a monthly mission of capturing and turning a varying number of the indigenous peoples that you live with. Now imagine that you can only capture a very limited select group, and that at any time during or after the capture, they can bail out and evade you with no chance of recapture. Now imagine that even if you happen to find someone that fits your limited profile, and that shows the potential to want to turn, that if they are young enough their parents can shut you down and set the captive free at any time with nothing more than a phone call. Now imagine that you have found a qualified candidate, captured him, turned him, signed him up, and shipped him off. Now imagine that this candidate decides he has something better that he wants to do and that all he has to do is say so and he's gone.

Now set your monthly capture quota 20% higher than you could possibly hope to reach, toss in a monthly failure report on your permanent record, add in daily anti-military propaganda on all public media outlets, daily complaints from parents and potential and former recruits to your superiors, 60+ hour work weeks, and a requirement that you present an impeccable image to the uncarring and ungrateful public.

I would not want to be a recruiter right now for all the porn on the internet. :noes:

I would put up with it to be closer to my family though, and my recruiter never worked for shit. There were always a shitload more people in line for the AF than the other branches, I don't think it would be too terrible. Plus I'm a good liar :hsugh:

That's true though, we are cutting back a shitload of people...I wonder if the recruitment goals stay the same :dunno:

Ah - I was thinking about Army recruiters when I posted that earlier. A lot of Air Force AFSCs are overmanned right now, so you would probably have a much easier time of it than the poor Army guys.

    bastard :fawk:

f-16 crew chief. There are 2 bases in new mexico, south carolina (Shawdi Arabia), luke in arizona, nevada, montana, edwards in california and one in alaska. They've pretty much only been sending everyone to new mexico though, everyone tries to get luke or edwards :hsugh:

Nothing is close to my family (Chicago) :wtc:

If I were in I'd jump at the chance to PCS to Montana. But then again... being a Crew Chief in -80 degree weather would suck blueballs real bad. :mamoru:

Montana/Wyoming are my old stomping grounds back when I was in high school.

That's really my only choice, since I used to spend most of my time hunting and fishing. This country is the worst place in the world for those two things by the way :o
