Its really discouraging, but its motivating as well....and this is depending on what side of the spectrum you fall on..

I met this guy who is my age at the gym (19), and we always go at the same times so the past few days we've been spotting each other and he has been helping me with form on some exercises.
The dude is incredibly built for someone my age...he's got crazy genetics and looks like he could easily compete. He's probably 6'2 and 10% BF and says hes been lifting for ~4-5 years...
He makes me look like such a bitch with his lifts...
Today he was repping the 100lb DB's (the most our gym has  ) on the seated DB press. And he can do as many BB bench reps with 320 lbs as I can with 185lbs :hs:

I know what u mean, I worked out with my friend once and It was really depressing, I was doing 10 reps of about 135 and everytime he went we had to put the weight to 250 cause thats what he reps. It makes me feel like a pussy.

its not about weight.. its about intensity and dedication. one of my best training parters was 160lbs and could barely bench his body weight. but he Busted his ass... every work out gave 150%.. made me feel like a bitch even though i was moving 10x the weight..

One of my friends tagged along with me once. He had never worked out in his life, and couldn't even do 12 reps on bench with the bar. Though it may sound a bit harsh, it reminded me why I lift weights, to not be a weak piece of shit.

wish i had someone with similar goals. we'd be able to push each other harder and harder and just having someone who's pursuing the same goals will be such a pump upper

I haven't ever really had a training partner.

I haven't had any friends get THAT into a particular hobby... Most of the people around here that know me think I'm crazy for going to the gym 6-7 days a week.

    :o

Maybe one of these days I'll meet someone with their head on straight..

Lately I've been switching off, or going with two guys, but generally at least one guy is stronger, but not thattt much :o

I worked out with my younger brother all summer till he went to college too... he's a good bit stronger than me :o

Shit, I wish I could find someone stronger to work out with (not saying that I'm super strong) everyone I work out with benches less than 100lbs and quits after a month or so.
