I know it's supposed to be all internal for alpha testing, but w/e....

Anywho, here's the deal: UF20wop and I (mostly me - by like 99% :wiggle:) created an online raffling site. We call it Xubees (pronounced "zoo-bees").

Here's how it works, you register, buy tickets (although for testing reasons, i'll be just giving each new registrant one thousand tickets) and then you enter your tickets (or xubees as we like to call them) into a raffle. Items range in category and retail value. Each item has a maximum number of tickets available for "purchase". Once all of the tickets are sold, the item closes, all the tickets are mixed up (shuffled) and a lucky winner is picked from the group of tickets. The winner is notified via email and asked to confirm their address.

We plan on having no tax and no shipping costs for the winner (We'll just build it into the maximum number of tickets available.) The only way to increase your odds of winning is to play more xubees on a specific item.

UF20wop and I have been playing around with the site for a while now, but obviously the more people that use the site, the higher number of bugs/errors/issues can be found & addressed.

    Link to site: http://www.xubees.com
for testing purposed, each account will be given 1000 xubees to start off with (and more will be given upon request.)

Thanks for your help guys, any comments or constructive criticism would be greatly appreciated!

~Before anybody brings it up, the legalities of the site have already been looked into... we're good :)~

As mentioned, the legalities have been looked into... we have our bases covered. It'd be illegal to do cash prizes or host in your own state or a state that doesn't allow gambling... we're in a separate state and host in a qualifying state.

Thanks, i threw you 1000 more tickets. Products will be purchased from wherever we can get them the cheapest, then we'll just dropship them to the winner.

I have a little bit of experience with raffles. As far as I know, it's illegal to hold any kind of online raffle in the US where a purchase is required to enter.

The only time I've heard of it being legal is when it's a non-profit organization. And even those raffles have lots of bs laws to abide by.

I could be wrong though. :o

I talked to an OTer whose job deal with this stuff directly. He said it's def. gambling, but you can work it right and fly under the radar.

But are you not wanting it to get bigger? Or are you just trying to make off with a quick buck?
