I'm looking at getting a dedicated server again and ServerBeach looks good to me. I like the free RapidReboot and they have a cheap $75/month starter.

Do any of you use Server Beach? Give me an honest review of your experience with them. Also, your referral code so we can take advantage of this:

I have used them before, although I do not have a server with them currently. I have considered getting one there for a few months because dreamhost is pissing me off.

    I would recommend them.

no, but i know their payout per click is HUGE on adsense. :)

I vouch for the planet when it comes to dedicated hosting.

I used to use them a few years ago when they called themselves RackShack, they were really good.

Right. I was referring to The Planet, who were Ev1Servers, and RackShack before that.

Uh, The Planet was never RackShack/EV1. They merged/bought out EV1, and the quality disparity between the two is similar to that of a Cisco product vs a Linksys one - or was, back when The Planet was in its prime.

However, I'd suggest skipping on both The Planet and ServerBeach. If you want a cheap-ish server in the Dallas area, go with LayeredTech @ Savvis, though their DataBank facility is pretty good as well. If you want a really nice solution, though, go with SoftLayer. It's made up of The Planet guys who were disappointed with the way The Planet was heading, from high quality hosting to more mid range. They're at the Infomart, and have an excellent backbone.

Internap/Verio/SAVVIS/GlobalCrossing/AboveNet(Formerly MFN), and they also have a Cogent uplink for server management, but no actual traffic is routed through it.

I use Manage my Box and have never had any problems. Cheaper and more powerful than ServerBeach, maybe give them a look.

This interests me. Is adsense a part of the hosting package, or is that something seperate that you just mentioned?

He's just saying that they pay well for clicks on adsense. He probably has a website vaguely linux or dedicated server related, and they're one of the ads that come up on it.
