So I'm headed back to MEPS next week to take my AFOQT (for the possibility of going to OTS) and the Electronic Data Processing (for the enlisted plan) test on the same day. :o
I've got a book on the AFOQT, but I was wondering what kind of math to look forward to from anyone who's actually taken it, and any kind of info on the EDPT since from what I'm told, it's rape tastic.

I'm kinda worried about the math myself. I'm not so hot at it. Did you get picked for OTS, or did the test wipe you out?

nope I was picked up for OTS, ask your recruiter the avg scores they see will blow your mind at how low they are. I dont remember exactly what I scored but it was like 78/75/68/89/35....all but my math score were way above the average and math was right with what he would see. The AF chooses officers through OTS on a whole person concept i.e. GPA, AFOQT, work history, volunteer work, the officer interview, personal statement....the AFOQT is only one piece of the whole person concept.

That makes me feel a bit better. :hs: I'm getting ready to start the process to see if I can get it, and my 3.2 college GPA is a bit mediocre. Math is the problem in there. My recruiter told me a bit different though that the average on the math was around a 70, but it wouldn't surprise me to find out it's a bit stretched.

yea non rated, non tech has not been friendly to OTS applicants I have never heard of a foreign affairs officer, Intel I hear though is somewhat undermanned, make sure you have 3 jobs on their you want to do becasue they will put you where they see fit.

you probably won't see anything above geometry/trig. I don't remember if there was any geometry or trig either. It's been awhile.

I had one interview and the Major was awesome, they should read your package before the interview and form some kind of an opinion. My interviewer flat out said "its my job to get you selected, from what I see you should be selected", in the interview and reading the package he got a full list of bullets for the paper work and I think personally thats what did it. But if you dont get all 5's from the interviewer you can kiss getting selected good by

Okay, well I'm set to take the AFOQT about two weeks from now thanks to a stupid delay, but I'll keep OT up to date on my progress. Thanks a lot for all the info, especially to jmx2323.

no problem, if you havent taken any practice tests do so and make sure you time them, that probably hurts people the most, dont run out of time. anything after that if you need any advice let me know

technically... especially since they changed the name to Combat Systems Operator/Officer. Spring last year they had slots to spare and were handing them out to anybody that qualified and wanted one.
