Looks like a good movie, but only out in select theatres, a DVD-rip leaked though if your cheap.

Would be a good movie it didn't have so much cheesy/fake BS action forced into it. I honestly turned it off half way through.

I didn't think it was bad. Typical unrealistic stuff, 2 man EOD team clearing an entire house, but some good action.

its a good flick if you're not a critical dick

so, if seeing CIBs and badges on the ACU in iraq and seeing the US army nametape on the wrong side just drives you nuts, then by all means don't watch it.

yeah they should've made it extremely fucking boring. many audiences would adore it.

It's the fact that it was overly 'hollywood'.

Anyone who acted like the EOD guy in the scene with the car trunk full of explosives would be smoked and gone. Just a BS scene all around.

Also the scene with the sniper action was a joke. A team of SOF guys who are thoroughly trained can't shoot a haji with their M107 and in turn are killed. But low and behold- an EOD tech can pick up the rifle and do the job.. :hsugh:

like i said, it's all bullshit, but nobody is going to get a kick out of reality.

movies are for entertainment and revenue.

not gonna lie i found the haji sniper pretty comical. the haji is just straight up smoking the bounty hunters then the tech picks it up wipes the blood off and takes them out :hsd:

Of course, but reading all the reviews of "best Iraq War Movie yet!" leads one to believe that it's at least going to be some-what realistic. I mean com'on- I'm all for action but it ended up being just like every other cheesy war/action movie where the bad guy shoots his revolver 40+ times (without reloading) and never scores a hit.

Just me ranting. I suppose I had higher expectations going into it.

I walked out after 30 minutes and asked for and got a pass for a free movie.

Most retarded fucking movie I've ever seen. Not even good action movie shit, just a bunch of shit thrown together with some dudes in cammies carrying weapons.

I am not even trying to be critical of the glaring inaccuracies of the timeline, military accuracy, etc.

Don't waste your time on this turd.

troll much? the movie was amazing. I watched it 3 months ago before the reviews and i absolutely loved it. I'm a bomb builder in the Air Force and I think they researched that line of work really well.

 not trolling and I'm not the only one in here that thinks it sucked..

  17. just saw it and was expecting a bit more from it. i can see how being in the military little things would drive you nuts in this movie, like name tapes being on wrong sides, and a couple other things, but i thought they did a pretty decent job with keeping it realistic.

couple things that got to me though. one was the EOD guy shooting a barrett kentucky windage and shooting people. yeah right. also three guys clearing that huge complex? really?

i thought it was a pretty decent movie though and was entertained from it. i didn't find it to be real profound or anything else but maybe i missed the message.

edit: nm my issues with the movie have been addressed already.

I thought it was alright in the sense that normal people not in the military can see what it's like to encounter an IED. That shit was crazy when he picked up the det cord and it was all daisy chained.

  19. yes it definitely made me feel that "oh shit" feeling for those guys.

exactly! thats why i thought the movie was so great....it was made to show civilians the life of a EOD troop...it had flaws like every movie but they didnt try to go over the top with a huge turning point of an ending it was simple and to the point.

I MIGHT see it out of curiosity. When it comes to specifics about the Army I might as well be a "normal person". If it was Marine Corps, I would scrutinize it down to the very last detail.

curiosity has me wanting to see this movie

The EOD guys I worked with kept a Barret .50cal and were quite proficient at long range marksmanship...they may not have attended sniper school but they could hit anything that looked suspicious

again i havent seen the movie but having worked with EOD guys quite extensively, i know some are deadly accurate with a large caliber sniper rifle

I saw thise a few weeks back at Tower Theater(local thater that shows mainly independent/film festival type/documentaries). It was a real suspense filled movie. Moments of silence followed by huge explosions! I hated and love other characters. As a film itself goes it's great. I have enlisted but have not shipped to basic training so I can not fully vouch for how accurate it is military wise. But yeah the daisy chained IED were fucking scary.
