Coming close to ending my second run on the intermediate and saw some  gains and thought about doing the advanced program. Looking for some other opinions on the program.

:dunno: it worked very well for me after I dropped all my fat and wanted to start gaining strength

I ran it for a 2 yrs before I changed shit up.

155x5 bench went to 205x5 bench
185x5 squat went to 405x5 squat
    225x3 deadlift went to a 495x3 DL

stopped with the 5x5 routine little over 2yrs ago now and..bench has gone up since then but everything else has gone down.

srsly was all i could do to bench the bar. :wtc: im up to 150 :o, squat was arong 175, hit 365 last night, never did dl's before, hit 345 last week.

im satisfied with those, especially being a g.b.f.p. (great big fat person) and dropping approx 225+ lbs. ran a duathlon this year, biked for over 2000 miles. finished a 100k in 3 hours.

are you still seeing gains on the intermediate?

I have no idea what the difference is between the intermediate and advanced routines.

that what im thinking...i came from pur's routine, which was crazy. the 5x5 seems way too low as far as volume, but the gains are

you have to remember you are hitting big compound movements 3 times a week. to much volume would most likley stall you really fast.

It worked crazy well for me as well, I'd pretty much add weight to everything every week.

I've lost a lot of my strength since then, I'm mostly doing crossfit stuff now, and not doing it nearly enough, but the christopher's modification of the Bill Starr routiine was by ar the most productive time I have ever spent in the gym. I wish I could remember exactly what it was.

I don't really remember, i know it was based on the basic 5x5 bill starr routine. I think i have it written down somewhere, i'll look it up.

If anybody else still has it, it was the bill starr routine that christpher's and pretty much everyone else used to recomend for newbs back before the days of anafit, when we were getting deals at 1fast400 from that mike dude and even before that.

the "chrsitophers" version of 5x5 was just one of the many variations that you can find on the net. i forget what it was, someone im sure still has it. only called "christophers" cuz i posted it first and did it, LOL.

but you gotta remember.. somehow the routine itself made people like superbri actually gain fat. that was by far THE single funniest thing i had seen on F&N besides superbri also challenging me and gogzilla to a hike-off.

  23. Lol seriously it is. You basically were carrying around me and 35 pounds and now you aren't. o_O So do you feel lighter now like moving around? Would me jumping on your back feel the same as you did before or is it not like that?

obviously i get around a lot better, able to do things and not see Jesus. Its not like that, wrap yourself in bubble wrap, jump in cement, and thats whats its like to be a fat ass.

hell im still a fat ass, but not as bad. loose skin is a bitch too
