put ssh/cmd etc sessions right into your desktop, like they would be a transparent overlay on your wallpaper and you could still use them if you click on the right spot or something??

it would be a huge help for monitoring stuff w/o having a buch of black/white windows on your desktop all the time

You're question doesn't make any sense.

1 terminal session in 1 window.
    1 desktop
your question mentions multiple windows but you only have one desktop. So you want to split the desktop into multiple panes to handle multiple ssh sessions?

You'll still have to activate those individual panes when you want to use them. And if you are running other applications you'll have other windows open. So what exactly is the difference here??

    I'm confused.

.... no i mean that they are integrated into your desktop ... so they have no window, just the text, and its semi transparent over your desktop wallpaper

sounds like you just need another monitor to hold all your sshs and one for your other content :p
