Mine is just really dim all over, and some parts are even darker than the rest(can notice when screen is all white).

It hurts my eyes a bit and I hate using it. I haven't unplugged it from my external for a bit.

I heard this is common in some of the first macbooks, is the only thing I can do to replace the screen?

i have a 13" macbook that is about 2 years old. the screen is dimming more and more. i used to only have to turn it up to 1/4 brightness for the setting i like (which really isn't super bright anyways). now i'm at more than 1/2 and it is still dimmer than what i want

Mine just blacked out today... Completely, totally blacked out.

Had to restart the thing before I could heave a sigh of relief.

Gotta be careful with these things :squint:

try calling and telling them how unacceptable it is that your screen is useless and you have to plug it in and it defeats the purpose of having a laptop if it's chained to the desk. How long have you had it? Tell them you don't think you can afford to be an apple customer anymore if their laptops cant function properly :dunno:
