Anybody else have agonizing forearm pain when doing straightbar curl?

  1. I can do a set but as soon as I try to let go of the bar, my forearms get a stabbing pain along the inside up towards my wrist (Suppinated grip). Is this a type of carpal tunnel?

No, it is kind of like a shin splint, just on your forearm. Drop straightbar curls.

yeah used to happen to me all the time. WHat I did, was let go of the bar VERY slowly at the end of my set, that stopped the pain somewhat.

Try EZ-Bar curls if it keeps bugging you.

  6. Did you just go lighter for a while, or did you stay at your heaviest?

i found that strengthening my wrists helped. try forearm curls (if you can call them that) i did those for a few weeks and they helped.

Werd to all advice that's been said. I got these bad about a year ago, took two weeks off training. Now I just do EZ bar curls and dumbbell curls.

I have this pain as well but I also have it at the insertion point at my elbow. That thing can really be a bitch some days and I can't figure out how to stretch it to make a difference.

I get them on heavy DB bench and cambered bar bench

  11. My problem with that is the shape my arms seem to be taking. I can't seem to hit certain parts of my bicep very well without throwing in straight bar.

But yeah, this is basically what I've been doing to this point.

I actually used to get them on ez-curl bars too. I'd have to let go and turn my wrist slowly back to normal postition for it not to hurt. It hurt like that for about a year but recently I've noticed that its been a lot better.
