And no, I'm not talking about buying frames and just adding your print. Do any of you guys make your own frames and cut your own mats, etc.? I'd like to learn how to do this. I don't think it'd be that difficult once you get the hang of it. :mamoru:

Goto home depot and you can get a jig to cut the 45* angles. Then you can get the clamps that hold a corner together while the glue sets. After that I dunno figure the rest out :ugh:

    I do!

    Well, sort of...

I cut all my own mats, and I just bought a Router, Compound miter saw and Biscuit joiner.

As soon as I get comfortable with this router, I'm gonna start making my own frames... I'm soooo excited....

I cut my own mats (mostly 16X20 and a couple 20X30). It gets a lot easier after doing a bunch. I just bought a mat cutter with a bevel cutter last week, it was $53 after a 55% coupon that my friend gave me

but yeah I do my own mattes. its a pain at first, and requires some initial costs getting everything, so you have to figure out how much you'll use it

i get those metal frames that you put together yourself. cutting mats is easy, but you have to get a cutter first---don't skimp on that

i've helped my dad build frames for some leaded glass and some mirrors my mom had. i've also hung out a bit in a buddy's custom frame shop, its not that difficult once you have the materials and tools.
