So we got any WPF Developers out there? Can you recommend any books? And what industry do you work in where you use WPF.

    Can't say I have.

It's hard to say too how well Silverlight is going to do because Flex and Air are very popular right now.

So I honestly can't say that I'd look at WPF now myself.

What tools are you using? Is it all code and XML, or are you using that designer product MS came out with (mind blank). How about Silverlight?

I've been using VS2008 for coding and Blend(the Microsoft XAML tool) for graphics, also been doing some of the XAML code by hand just to get a feel for it although Blend makes it much nicer. Haven't played with Silverlight yet.

WPF is a very nice upgrade to WinForms but not replacing WinForms.

WPF is way too slow for me. I'll stick with windows.forms.

    Slow how? Development time? execution?
and are we talking WPF as introduced in VS2005 or VS2008? VS2008 is a huge improvement over 2005 IMO

I use VS2k8. Slow as in slow. It's rediculously shitty to develop with. VERY slow compared to win.forms.
