I want a 12" bad, but according to macrumors the PB is due for an update. It probably won't be a significant one but I'm not desperate so I could wait a month. Anyone got the scoop?

I've got to hand it to Apple, these guys are harder to crack than the CIA.

I've actually got a brand new 12" sitting in the box that was delivered this morning, but my brother needs a new computer for school so I might give it to him and wait for the update.

Well, I couldn't resist and had to pop open the 12". This thing rules for couch web browsing. My 15" gets really hot and makes my balls all sweaty. Screen doesn't seem as small as I thought it would.

    :naughty:

i noticed that about the screen too, i thought it was going to be too small, but it's actually, imo, almost perfect size for the stuff i do.

I wouldn't worry about any powerbook updates.

just buy another gig of ram and your 12" will be fine

I've got the "Latest" PB 12" from the last round of updates. I heard from a few good sources (ie, apple employees) that the 12" was pretty much running as hot as it could, and that the 1.5GHz G4 was the fastest chip they could fit in there...

The rumor at the time was that the next PB would have a Dual Core CPU --- but now I am thinking they may wait until the Intel switch for that.

(PS, a 12" 1.5GHz PB w/ an extra 1GB stick of ram = teh win!)
