I don't have health insurance, and if I want to speak with a shrink, its going to cost me $ 150 per session minimum. There is no way I can afford that, and I'm seriously getting tired trying to deal with depression alone. I had alot of success with it when I could get sessions at $16 at my university, however now that I've graduated and can't find a job or afford insurance, I'm hurting.

I live in Texas, where you can only recieve state funded treatment if you are suicidal. My life is really starting to suffer because of this.

Your university doesn't offer continuing therapy for alumni?

Anyway, $150 would be the full rate for a psychiatrist, not a psychologist. Whats more, you might be able to get by with a much cheaper M.S. therapist. But, anyway... what you're looking for is called a 'sliding scale.' Call around and find someone that bills on a sliding scale, according to your income. You can find someone who gives a fuck this way, and you can save money.

Try contacting Kaiser Permanente - they have health plans that start at around $100/mo in many states.

Call around convincing them that you're the black jesus. They might take you on for free, just cause you're interesting.

Have you asked HIM what to do? Cause I'm sure he can refer you to someone affordable. They all know each other, man.
