I mean blind blind, I don't even know what this person looks like. The only thing I can think of to talk about is how retarded the situation is

Go into it with an open mind. Have an out if you dislike her. That's about all I got.

make sure to give yourself an easy out if there's no chemistry. No point in wasting your or her time if you guys dont have any spark.

I know some people would say "oh, you should stay the whole date to be nice". I disagree. If you would rather be doing something else, there's no rule saying you can't be civil and bow out of the date early.

I was fixing my aunt's computer after she fugged it up for the umpteenth time when her massage therapist walked in for her session. Apparently this massage therapist said I was cute and would be great for her friend. Literally I know NOTHING  I figure I'll just take her to my favorite dive, so if it is really awkward, at least they have my favorite beer:

Don't put any pressure on yourself and make sure to speak to one of your friends so that you have an exit strategy, ie) you txt they call you etc and bail you out with an emergency.

Psh, why bother with the facade?

If he's not enjoying the date, he should simply say "hey, i don't think this is really working out, I'm gonna go" and go. It's not his responsibility to keep her entertained if he's not enjoying himself.

Sometimes you need an exit strategy, you simply never know what the individual will be like, you obviously haven't been on any horrendous dates, it can get ugly fast and the simplest hassle free way for him to exit is what I explained.

    could you give an example?

I'm assuming that both of them are going to drive to wherever separately...

what's to stop him from just leaving if it gets ugly?

I'd agree... though you really don't HAVE to have a friend involved in that. Just excuse yourself to the bathroom and when you get back just say "I got a call while I was in there, I gotta go... work called me in/my mom's in the hospital/my dog died"

Then just split with the quickness. :bigthumb:

updates? :x: having a friend to call you isnt always needed as an exit strategy, set your phone up as an alarm clock, per say 45 mins into the date have it go off, she wont know if its an alarm or incoming call, well with at least my phone you cant tell the difference, pace yourself too, if you have the option; set it up so you have at least 2 or 3 chances to receive "incoming calls"

    tuesday

I'm not doing the fake exit strategy, if it's terrible I'll have one boring drink and be done with it. "Whelp, gotta work tomorrow, thanks for coming out, cya."

Well since y'all wanted a report...there's nothing to report :p It was fairly boring, she was perfectly nice and normal but she didn't seem interested :dunno: Oh and I forgot to tip the valet guy and now I feel like a douche.

    So there's your update :mamoru:

Were you attracted to her at all? Or was it an obvious case that you two were both just not into it?

She was kinda cute but she was as much of a cynic as I am, which probably doomed the possibility of anything

I might invite her to play tennis or go biking or something someday.

    Thanks for the update.

But I'm still going "sheesh' to all the "exit strategy" talk....what the heck happened to just saying "Hey, I'm not feeling this, I'm gonna go" routine?
