Any skinny guys have trouble gaining weight?

    im a nub to this forum so sorry if this is a stupid question, but anyway, im 6'1'' and about 155 pounds and i just started working out a couple weeks ago and basically i can already see muscle toning but what i really want is to bulk to 170-180 pounds. is this possible? i have been eating protien bars every day and i eat a lot of fast food but i just cant gain noticable weight... does anyone have any suggestions?

    more and more calories...protein shakes...just eat...lift....get enough sleep every night. if you dont gain weight at 3,000 cals...move up to 3500 or 4k till you find what it takes to make gains.

    what a nub? lol. Anyway, www.fitday.com is good for tracking what you eat and how many calories, fat, protein, etc. you take in each day

    Yes. Just eat and lift.

    If that doesn't work.. or you aren't gaining as fast as you'd like let me know and I might be able to give you a couple ideas (from a ectomorphs perspective).

    at least 6 balanced meals a day, consistancy is the key

    after reading that other thread, i definitely am not eating frequently enough and i dont have enough variety. basically i

    wake at 7:30 and have a redbull and eat a protein bar on the way to work
    10am i usually have some vending machine snack like peanuts or a snickers or something of that sort
    11:45 am - this is when i work out every day for an hour
    12:45 lunch right after working out, this is always fast food such as mcdonalds, burger king or something of that sort and i get a basic value meal and usually another burger on top of that.
    3:00 pm another vending machine snack, maybe ice cream or gummi bears
    6:00 pm small dinner at home, pasta, or porkchops, chicken breast, something like that.

    8-9 pm another fast food run. maybe in n out or wendys or whatever im feeling like at the time and i get another value meal along with a hamburger.

    11-2 pm is my bedtime

    just eat dude...and when you get full and feel like you are going to throw up, shove more food down your throat to keep it from coming up. I was 6'1" @ 140 and put on 15 lbs in my first month of lifting. eat before bed if you can too.

    whenever i try to eat before bed i cant sleep because my heart is beating too fast.

    That's quite possibly the worst diet I've ever seen posted on a internet forum.

    it sounds like you need to sit down for a few hours and do some hardcore reading on the subject of bulking.

    So basically until 12:45, roughly 5 hours, you are living off of a snickers bar, protein bar, and a redbull. Don't do that anymore.

    If it doesn't have 40 grams of protien you shouldn't be eating it. Just use that rule of thumb 6 times per day and that will get you started.
