I'm going to purchase a macbook pro tomorrow (w/ student loan :wtc:) but i'd rather wait a little if there is a newer one coming out... I know the new macbook comes out nov.6 (rumors). I have searched the web for Mac Forums but all i get are the official apple websites w/ help forums...

    Edit:
Just made the purchase... scroll down for pix

If you are going to get one, then get one. There will always be something better coming out eventually. I got mine and then the C2D MBPs came out. I didn't really care though.

    then wait two weeks...
you have your mind made up already. you're going to wait or you're not. and since it's "shit like nov.6" i can tell you to buy it tomorrow and you'll say the same thing. so wait the 2 weeks.

It's unlikely there will be any revision to the macbook pro before they can ship penryn processors in them, so expect either an announcement at macworld in january or mid february to march.

Macworld is in January and they always announce new products then. If you can wait till then thats what I would do.

don't base a computer purchase around "waiting". in the end, of course, if you wait, something better will come along

    Couple questions..
    1. Will the area where i rest my palm fade?
    2. WTF is the remote control for?
    3. Any "must have" accessories?
    4. Recommend me a bluetooth mouse
    THANKS!
BTW: I just bought a case from Worst Buy as i was waiting for the leopard to install...

    1. mine has...not sure if applecare covers it or not (anyone know?)
2.Remote control is for front row, press the menu button and youll see it. you can also control itunes from it
    4. All the ones that are sold at the apple store work great

    1. I use my mbp sometimes with my hands kinda dirty (i.e. kitchen tiling today) so I picked up a palm guard from Moshi. Really nice quality and finish. Matches perfectly. If you didn't look close you really wouldn't know I had it on.

    2. Been answered. Also if you hook up your MBP to a TV the remote will come in handy.

Also don't forget to download SuperCal and calibrate your Screen. I'm not a fan of how they come stock.

Just a bit more advanced screen calibration program that come with OS X. Just have to take time to adjust Red, Green, and Blue and the warmth....all the fun stuff.

My MBP's screen came a bit too much on the yellowish side for my taste. After calibration it looked MUCH better.
