My grandfather passed away on Monday, so I scanned in ~250 pictures (that was fun), and just used Lightroom to display a slideshow with ~5 MP3s in the background.

It worked just fine and everyone loved it, but now everyone is asking me for a copy of it. LR is lame and will only export a slideshow to a PDF for some moronic reason ... PDFs transitions are crap, and they don't allow background music.

is there something free or relatively cheap ($50 or under) that will let me do something like this? There are no text overlays or anything - just 250 pictures, a simple fade transition, and some background music.

    :dunno:

the best I've found is Showit web, but its pricey and the creator is a good guy and friend so no cheating that.

    photo to movie

fotomagico is another option (mac only IIRC)

Pinnacle studio use to do a good job for me

or get a program to do a screen capture + audio of the LR one and host it as an .avi or something :hs:

is that that "DJ" guy? i've read his blog before, and while he seems to know his stuff, he comes across pretty arrogant. i'm guessing that's not the case? ;) :o

That's David Jay. He does appear to be pretty genuine, but his products cost a fortune. I like his effects, although I have not tried them. ShowIt Web, and his Bridge/Lightroom work flow are nice too and expensive. He has a sweet house, from what I saw in his blogs. I am a member over at OpenSourcePhoto...some great photogs there.
