    I have the following system:

    AMD 64 X2
    1GB DDR2
    GeForce 6150
    400GB SATA

I plan to upgrade the video card soon. I have a copy of Vista Ultimate 64bit. What are the pros and cons to running it. I don't game very much, if at all. Just general internet stuff, music, movies, some photoshop, etc. Is it worth it to run Vista 64?

I run it and it works fairly well. There are a couple of things I come across that don't work properly but I guess you will have that. It does hog quite a few resources though. I would seriously suggest upgrading to 2gb of ram. I'm planning on going back to xp and dual booting linux as well I think. I have a server that I save all my files and it seems vista takes alot longer to copy files than xp.

Vista x64 has some extra security features that make it more virus-proof (for now at least). But, unless you have software that needs more than 4GB of ram, you're not going to see any difference between 32 and 64-bit in day-to-day use.

Pros: It handles more than 4GB of memory
Cons: Lots of shit doesn't work and don't have 4GB anyway

I am running Vista x64... driver support blows, but most applications seem to work. I would recommend just sticking with the 32-bit version
