A&P Any programs to remove dust on pictures?

    There's a piece of dust on my sensor on my d80. My vacation pics all have this black spot on it.

    Is there an automatic way of removing it?

    there is probably an automatic way to do it but I wouldn't trust it. clone tool is your friend!

    if you are using capture you should be able to take a dust reference photo then have capture remove it on its own. i dont mess around with that shit, if dust shows up just clone it out and give the sensor a quick puff with the blower. all i have ever had to do.

    was I supposed to get the capture program along with my d80?

    i only got the pictureproject.

    you can make an action in photoshop to do a batch on all the pictures, it's cake

    but i can't clone the same thing on alll the pictures.

    but you'd have to use the magic healing tool. a clone point might not work on all photos.

    do you shoot in RAW? if you do you can use a Dust off reference photo and it does it automatically. VERY handy feature. works with picture project I think, but definitely with capture NX.
    its listed in the manual for the D80 somewhere.
