i would like to convert some .avi files of movies in order to use them with Front Row and the Remote. I tried to just import the file, but nothing happened(i expected this)

Does anyone know of a program that will allow the .avi file to play in iTunes and Front Row?

It might be that you don't have the right codec installed.
QuickTime Pro can export it to many different formats, but you still have to have the right codec

Thanks for the input. I do not think i have quicktime pro. just normal quicktime. I will look into this.

If theres any advice you can give as to what codec, or anything at all it would be appreciated.

the new VLC has the capabilities of being controlled by the apple remote. and also, if you like sofa control - download remote buddy, it is sooo much better - you can do anything from the remote http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/30015

pm me if you want the serial number :o
