GUN Any opinions on the R15?

    Remington R15 looks like a pretty decen platform to build on. Fairly well priced canadian...but does anyone know about the quality etc?

    It's basically a repainted Bushmaster AR-15, IIRC....should be okay for casual use.

    "Casual use"? would Stag be a better platform to modify?

    well, the R-15 looks like it starts life as a fairly specialized platform.

    If you just want a basic AR-type to just mod out to your heart's content, I'd say find something that's likely to start at a lower price point.

    On the other hand, if the R-15 has what you want in an AR, at least for a good while, and you're okay with the price, go for it.

    (by "casual use" I meant normal range use with regular cleaning and quality ammo, etc, not being bashed around in the mud, shot for thousands of rounds between cleanings--like a .mil or LEO gun might expect to be)
