I'm trying to decide which .357 revolver i'm going to get and i've pretty much boiled it down to these 2. The Rossi beats the S&W in the looks and price categories but does anyone know how well they shoot and function???

    Rossi 971 $245

    S&W 686 $492

If you know of any similar revolvers please let me know.

Any explaination on reasoning for spending $250 more for what seems to be the exact same thing?

I know nothing about the Rossi nor have I seen anyone with one. Personally I'd go with the Smith.

The Rossi is fine. Taurus also makes good, cheap revolvers.

I forgot about that. Now that Rossi's have Taurus's lifetime guarantee I don't really think that there's a reason not to buy one.

Frame geometry, balance, accuracy, weight, felt recoil, fit & finish, trigger pull, etc....yeah, none of that shit matters because its just a revolver, so get whatever is cheapest.:coolugh:

Rossi revolvers have been around a long time and carried by many a cop back when the snub nose 38 was a favorite among detectives. I'm not a real big revolver fan but if I found one for 245 bucks I would buy it in second.

So if you don't buy that one, PM me and I will. Seriously

OH hell yes. They have the 460v for $848. That's the cheapest I've found them by far. Thanks for reminding me about Bud's!
