With all your gear? I've been going back and forth whether I want to take my 30D and two lenses and instead just buy a P&S so it's easier to lug around/conceal. But I've heard people tell me it's relatively safe as long as you're not stupid about things (i.e. lock up gear if possible in a locker, don't leave it laying around, etc, common sense stuff).

Be smart and you'll be fine. Watch out for ppl being extra nice to you, or wanting to party with you all night. My friends got set up over there and had to knock a few heads.

Taxi driver drove my friends into an alley as a trap. My friends told me, he was being overly nice the entire time so they were already cautious. By the time they decided to get out of the taxi, it was too late.

When they got out of the taxi they started swinging then ran!

    *the tip they gave me*

Count your money in a bathroom not in public. Be cautious of nice ppl, if they are overly nice...watch your shit. Basic street smarts

Just have your gear insured. I had mine insured for when I used to vacation here in the Philippines. Even when I moved back here my gear's still under a US policy. Theft or loss is covered outside the US with my policy.

i was in pattaya a few months ago. i took all my stuff to the hotel and walked around with it a few times. i usually took the xt + 17-50 out when we going out exploring but i did walk around for about an hour with the 70-200 mounted up. it's just like any other place, dont go where you dont think you should be and you'll be fine.

I used to live in Thailand for a stint. People by general rule are overly friendly. Some of the most gracious people I've ever met. It is night and day different then attitudes in the west.

Some great street food on Petchaburi road.

6 hours I think. With an hour lay-over in Hong Kong. It's do-able.

And I'll be taking my camera, thanks guys for the suggestions and what not.

I have been to Thailand many times. You will regret it if you don't take your gear!

Some of my best pictures are from Thailand.

I take both my DSLR and my point and shoot.
