A&P Any of you guys running Hacked FW on a Canon P&S?

    I really just want the battery meter.

    Some extra manual control will be nice though.

    Yup. Been running CHDK on my A630 since the middle of 2007. I would recommend it.

    Using CHDK, I was able to build a tethered and wireless remote for the camera (Canon doesn't offer either for this model). Also it provides a live histogram, which again, Canon doesn't make available for this model. The video is handy, although honestly I haven't figured out all the settings and what they do. I think I got it tweaked so I can take longer than 15 minute videos (there was a 1gb memory limit, regardless of the size of the SD card loaded).

    At the very least, its fun to play with and see if its something you will find useful.

    Loaded it today, the battery meter and live histogram alone made it worth my 10min :bowdown:

    Oh and playing Connect 4 is kinda cool :o
