I am traveling there next week and it seems like everyone from my local CCW board is indicating not to carry in DV even though its totally legal. They are telling me that the DVPD is not CCW friendly and will arrest people for carrying in Denver...

Just looking for any local opinion..

    Born and raised in Jeffco.

Denver is about the only place you'd even need to worry about...but their shouldn't be a real reason to fear the DPD if you have a valid permit. Just MAKE SURE that you have a permit from a state YOU are a RESIDENT of. I.e. having a UT ccw if you are from WA won't work...CO ONLY recognizes permits that are issued to residents.

You'll be fine. I know at least a half dozen people that CCW in Denver county. I've yet to hear of any of them being hasseled.

It's open carry you get harrassed for out here. No open carry in Denver, and even the outlying counties people will cry to the cops to hassel you for OC.

The only real way you'd get hassled in denver is if you had to actually draw your weapon/somehow got detained by the fuzz...and then you have bigger shit to deal with, so it should really be a non-issue lol.

JRMS is correct, OC in Denver county is illegal. Same in the town of Breckenridge, but nowhere else IIRC.

Why would you get hassled over something that no one knows it there?

Being non OC friendly is different than it being illegal. Only 2 municipalities in CO ban OC.
