...when lifting? For the past week every time I workout I get a killer headache. Any experience?
are you breathing correctly while lifting?
are you eating enough?
have you been lifting heavy for a very long time with no time off/deload weeks?
you might want to see a physician.
could need to drink more water
I did about 6 months ago. When I first moved here to the UK and was hitting the gym utilizing my same schedule with no breaks to adjust to the time difference etc..
I would take 3 excedrin minimum prior to any lifting and still get them. Depending on what lifts you are doing could have a major impact on the solution.
Is it when you squat? Bench? Deadlift? What lifts exactly?
Is it a sharp pain or a dull pain? Do you feel sick when they hit? Do you feel dizzy or dis-oriented when they come around?
If you only get them on certain lifts, you need to really pay attention to your form. If you strain your neck really hard when you squat, bench or deadlift..you could possibly be putting much more in jeapordy than you think.
You need to hydrate, breathe correctly and not strain your neck too hard.
You are more than likely trying to push too much weight or, as said before me, just not hydrated or breathing correctly.
never knew it had a scientific name
know I've seen these threads before... anyway, I used to get them up the back of my head for about a week or two. then they were gone.
This seems to fit, happened the first time last monday during split-squats. The google hits all say it can last a few days, continuing to hit the gym didn't help. I think I need to work on my breathing while lifting.
I still get random flashbacks of pain from that.
