I need to configure a document library so users can select "Create -> New" and it will open a copy of a PDF template that I've dropped in the document library's "Forms" folder (which is where all templates are supposed to go, apparently). Sharepoint keeps telling me I can't do this unless the template is compatible with a program that can use Sharepoint Services, which pretty much means Microsoft Office and nothing else. Is there any other way to get this same functionality without having to make users manually copy and edit the PDF template?

Can't you just rebuild the document template in Word?

Not my prerogative. I was given the PDF and told to make a site to use with it.
