    so here goes.

    she wants to start working out at home to loose weight. anyone have a log or what they are doing? what supplements to take? what protein shakes are good for the ladies?

    the australian method is walking around and eatting less. apparently you can lose 3-4kilo a month like this. though a study linked it to male pattern balding.

    She should start watching her diet...counting calories, etc. I suggest running to lose the weight.

    I don't log on here anymore, but I do all my workouts "at home."

    currently:
    Run 3 miles off road 3x weekly
    40 min pilates followed by 30 min elliptical 2-3x weekly

    I'd advise her to drink lots of water, cut out soda (even diet) and watch the sodium, and make sure she's taking in at least 1200 clean calories a day (help her calculate her daily cals for a 2lb/week weight loss). As for at-home workouts: pilates/yoga DVDs are awesome and Billy Blanks' Bootcamp vids are a real tough aerobics workout. Invest in a decent pair of walking or running shoes depending on what activity she enjoys more. Also, resistance bands, free weights in 2 or 3 different sizes, and an exercise ball are great things to have on hand. Self magazine has some decent workouts that require those types of equipment.
