    Miles: 119,000
Body Style: 4-Door Wagon / Sport Utility

It might be, but thats how you negotiate. I'd never pay someone's asking price.

I'm not a fan of the V8 ZJ's myself, I'll take the less powerful 4.0 over them any day as its more reliable.

Magnum V8s, while not the most powerful v8 ever, are built like brick shithouses and are by no means whatsoever unreliable. I have owned 3 vehicles with the magnum 5.9s and 4 vehicles with the jeep 4.0 I6. The I6 is a tremendous engine, but there is hardly a difference in mileage between those as the magnum 5.2. If you take apart a magnum motor, they have pretty beefy parts.

    I have a extensively modded 98 5.2 v8 Jeep grand limited.

With that kind of mileage, I wouldnt be so quick to buy a v8 grand. If you do, have money aside for a new or rebuilt transmission.

The trannys in the 5.2L grands are weak. Theyre almost guaranteed to go out or need major work done by 130,000.

The ones in the 4.0 are weak too but they dont have enough power to break anything, thats why people say theyre more reliable.

The motor itself is bulletproof. Its everything else thats a pain. Make sure its a had waterpump replaced in the last 10k miles. It may still need a new one. Also ask if the fuelpump has been replaced.

Youll almost definitely need front end suspension bushings ie: swaybar bushings, control arm bushings, tracbar bushings.

Find out if these things have been done. If its been sitting outside all these years and hasnt been done, itll need to.

Hope it works out for you!

PS - Dont let me scare you off, all these things are extremely easy and decently cheap to do yourself!!

Come over to Jeepsunlimited.com in the WJ/ZJ section and also the SpeedFreaks section and ask any questions you want! very noob friendly over there!

I've got a grand, I think that price seems a little high, unless its in fantastic condition
