A&P Any interior photographers?

Discussion in 'Lifestyle' started by coughlin's law, Jul 14, 2008.

  1. I'm looking heavily to getting into interior photography. I'm looking at possibly getting a 580EX II and maybe an SB-80 to trigger... originally I was going to get some Vivitars, but wasn't sure...

You'll need more than one flash.

my sister wants me to do some interior shots for her.. but I'd need to rent a lens and a couple flashes in addition to my 30d + 580ex

Yep. You'll need several including modifiers, stands, and triggers.

I was joking... people rag on HDR around here so much, and there's been so many threads about it lately, just thought I'd throw that in. :mamoru:

  14. I've been talking to Scott Hargis, an interior photographer, and we've been talking about a few things.

Sometimes he uses up to 5 lights SB-80s...

A lot of interior photographers actually use HDR and do it well.

I prefer the look from using flashes correctly though.

if you're going off camera why not stick with cheap manual flashes?

sunpak 383 if you can find them. vivitar 285 is another option.

the old nikon sbXX flashes i think will power down to 1/64th or 1/128th. i'd find that useful in certain situations.

Industrial and offices I've seen. Not too many normal real estate, unless they're big expensive houses

PC or TS lens + Fool Frame + many lights = win

everything else = fail and misery
