For the next gen????
or the new camaro?
It's gonna get the LC2 V6
There will be no 07 GTO.
The GTO is dead after 2006 version coming out.
When holden get around to converting the monaro to the up coming Zeta archetecture, id say thats what the pontiac gto will be based on, they have also started up a plant in Melbourne developing supercharged ls2's....
I doub't it's going to happen anytime soon. I think any hopes for it died when Chevy axed their RWD platform.
The next gen Monaro for the VE platform is already confirmed.
Means there will be another GTO in the near future after 2006.
If the 2007 GTO isisnt using the same chassis as 04-06 it will probadly have a 1 year hitaus then come back the following year eith a Zeta chassis.
Supernoma, want to rewrite that, i read it a few times and it didnt make sense.
If they dont put the zeta platform into production in 2007 it will probadly use the platform it currently has. Or 2006 will be the last year of the current GTOs and 2007 will be a leap year.
Either way, 2008 I'm guessing will be the first year of Zeta.
I doubt there will be a 2007 Monaro or GTO. Despite what Holden's CEO says, the Monaro isn't confirmed to soldier on in current or redesigned form. I wouldn't count on any new ones after 2006.
As of last month, all the hot rod mags were printing that Zeta was cancelled. GM is broke and didn't have the funding to build factories to build the new platform.
i doubt they'd build new factories. they'd most likely retool an old one. which is just as expensive
Possible fascia/hood update on current body for '07?!
Rendering shows heritage-inspired design cues with the vertical headlamp stack, bisected grille, and hood scoops.
Gm is basically broke, but the aussi's already have a working zeta archetecture to produce in our factories.
Great, that looks just like a mistubishi (bitsashitty).
I hope they don't uglify the car like that drawing.
damn straight. that was my first thought. i dearly hope that shitbox design dont make it anywhere.
Old, old fan art
Guy that used to work at GM (new contact of mine) designing the parts to "Americanize" the Monaros said that GTO will die after 2006 because they won't live up to the 2007 crash standards here in America.
Holden is phasing out the car and replacing it with their Zeta RWD line too, it doesn't look very good at all.
Well if they ever actually get Zeta into production, my second new car purchase would probably be a 201X Camaro or GTO.
We'll see what happens though.
gto sucks. GOODBYE
yeah nothing like that 05 Z06
