Sometimes when i am moving and slow down and start moving again on a straight road or decline(road sloping downwards) the engine revs and everything but it takes a while for the wheels to engage. I think it is taking a while for the tranny to engage and distribute power to the wheels, but i dont know, what could be the cause of this....any help would be appreciated....

Could be the transmission slipping. Go to your auto repair shop and have them flush the tranny. That should fix the problem.

i know if the tranny goes, i'll probably die, is that a VERY bad thing, or can it be stopped with regular servicing as wfo said....any help is welcome....i plan on going to the mechanic on Friday

auto or manual tranny? I'm assuming auto b/c it sounds like it's slipping... That engine/tranny combo usually lasts forever, so unless it is a freak problem it's most likely not anything major.
