    right now I only have the 18-55 and the 50mm, will be getting the 70-200L soon and probably the 2x tele for it.

    I want a FAST tele lens in the ~30 to ~110mm range, to use as a walk around lens, any suggestions?

    I love mine. I'd post pictures of it, but I sent it into canon to get re-calibrated...

    More range and fast doesn't exist.

    Why not use that handy 2x converter you're going to get on a 24-70? Sounds reasonable. Oh, but then you aren't fast. If you want fast, but a collection of primes - oh wait, but then you don't have a single walk around lens. :o

    You gotta give and take. Why not use the cheapest zoom of all - foot zoom? :bigthumb:

    I bought the 8-1200mm f/.015 IS L the other day. It's a tank, but 1200 is almost too long on a 1.6x body. :o

    I had it and bought a 24-70 f/2.8 - f/4 was too slow for me, son.

    F4 != fast

    F4L practically almost spells fail.

    I'd go with the 24-70. The 70-200 is too heavy for a "walk around" lens and you'll soon wish you had something wider, especially if it's on a crop camera.
