SRS any good stress relief out there?

    i just flipped out at my parents over basically nothing. ive been stressed over school, eagle, college, EMT, bitches, etc... i see a psychiatrist every couple weeks. running hasnt helped me, it just all builds up for a while and i flip out.... now my friend just called and im gonna go smoke a hooka, so hopefully there will be some good responses when i get back... thanks

    Vipassana Meditation is the best stress fighter I've found. Now that I am okay at the technique, I can practice it for a few moments before flipping out, and it stops me from doing so.

    Quit the weed (and if it's opium then definitely quit that shit faster than you can say 'poop'); it's fine when you're high but it'll make stress worse and encourage depression when you're not. Ya Rly. So unless you want to go through life permanently blitzed you'd better commit yourself to finding a real solution.

    Clearing your mind is what you want, right? Too much stress, none of your usual release points are working... time to try something new. Only you can figure out what the root cause of the problem is, so get to it. It's not going to be "stress". It'll be something like "I don't have enough time to hang out with my friends any more" or "i don't enjoy the major i picked for school". Meditation works, but you have to learn how to do it for real and that takes time. Crossing your legs and chanting "om" doesn't work unless you're clearing your mind while you're at it. Don't knock it until you've learned how to do it - otherwise you have no idea what you're talking about.

    Nap. Best form of stress relaxation in my books. Make your bedroom pitch black, ear plugs, unplug the phone, shut the bedroom door, listen to some soft George Winston piano music, curl up in your duvet and have a nap.

    I guess it's different for everyone. The best stress relief for me is paintball. I was super stressed out last year, the only way I could cope was by letting everything out on the paintball field at tournaments. It was a place where I could forget about all my worries for a few hours. The adrenaline, the pain, the fear, the elation of winning (or determination brought on by losing) made it an incredible release. So my advice to you is to go play some aggressive sport, where you can flip out in a safe environment, forget your worries and have fun.

    And quit the weed, it's not helping

    lol i wish it was a pet, nah Eagle Scout.. highest rank, if i were to go to military school i would start out a rank higher than anyone else :rolleyes:

    I have a strange way of relieving myself from stress, any wall will do. Stand one armlenght away from the wall + 10 inches. Stretch 2 arms and 2 fingers (point,and middlefinger) on each hand , and drop your body against the wall in an angle (keeping feet in place) letting your fingers putting pressure against the wall and keeping your feet still.

    Now let all the stress flow from your body into the wall ,if you feel it isn't going fast enough, (its pretty much as pushing up against the wall) Lower your elbows more down the wall so that you'll need to use all your stress and pressure to prevent yourself from falling.

    Its not a miracle thing but if exerted it lets a bunch of it flow out.

    I lift. I get so fucking pumped every day that I can hardly drive a car home. Its great, and I look better. Forget only doing cardio, when you start putting up a bunch of weight, and see your body totally change into a new person, you can't help but accomidate the necessary mental changes.
