Okay, so I think Im going to buy my AK kit tonight as well as the jig and rivets and a few other compliance parts.
But I need to ask you guys something
I have pretty much every tool that I need now except for a torch which I can borrow for now along with a couple small things.

I was wanting to build an all black AK after I finish the first one. I was just wanting to know what kinds of black synthetic or plastic furniture sets were out there. I searched and found a galil style one, but I dont think I like that one too much. I was thinking about maybe the exact same size and shape only black plastic. Anyone know where I can find a US made on? Id like to include it as a compliance part (how many deductions can I get with an entire furniture set btw?)

    Or one kinda like this:

I was thinking about going through DPH arms since Ive heard some good things about them.

Romy kit w/ g2 trigger group:
    http://dpharms.com/romanian-ak47-kit-and-g2-trigger-group-combo-p-98.html

    US made cylinder:

    US made slant brake:
    http://dpharms.com/us-marked-14x1-lh-us-slant-breaks-p-82.html

Should I request a single or double hook trigger group? It doesnt even matter does it?

    Flat

Im assuming these come with rails since they are in the picture? :dunno:

    Rivets and crossmember
    http://dpharms.com/ak-receiver-swell-neck-rivets-wcross-member-p-66.html

    Anything else I am forgetting?

Is there any way I can replace another compliance part inside the gun so I done have to replace the muzzle brake? Im trying to keep it orignial

If you want to go with that black plastic furniture you should go with the ak74 muzzle break as well to keep the overall look. Slant brake with black plastic furniture is a bit off.

I meant the slant brake for my first buil, an original looking one. Then once I get the hang of it, making a black one. Included questions for both guns.

you cant go wrong with double hook b/c it can be modified to be used with single hook setup if you need it.

I need to get a press, a flat bending jig and a dozen or so flats so I can start knocking out a bunch of receivers before it becomes illegal :hs:

I just recently in the last month bought a drill press and hydraulic press.
I got a Crafstamn 10'' drill press with laser system for $85 after sale and first time membership

    http://www.sears.com/sr/javasr/product.do?cat=Bench+Power+Tools&pid=00921900000&vertical=TOOL&subcat=Drill+Presses&BV_UseBVCookie=Yes

Then I got a 12 ton hydraulic press from Harbor Freight for $80 with around $10 shipping. They said it would take 2 business weeks to get it but it was more like 4 days.
Im happy with it for the money

The jig and flats I got from DPH arms but you can get those from multiple places like Redstar arms etc.

I know about the flats and the presses. I've got a drill press that works well enough. I'm going to go for the 20 ton press from Harbor Freight. Everyone I've talked to that has a 12 ton press wishes that they would've gotten the 20 ton. I've seen how much trouble you can have pushing the barrels out of a front trunion with a 20 ton press and I don't think I'd want to try it with a 12 ton :o

Theyve had problems with a 20 ton. God, I thought a 12 ton was good enough. Hope I dont have to go out and buy another one :o

Will the 12 ton be good enough to get everything done? I dont care how much of a pain in the ass it is.
