    Homeowner Finds Bucket Of Guns
    [IMG]
    POSTED: 5:14 pm EST January 22, 2007
A homeowner in Central Florida found a bucket containing five guns, according to a Local 6 News report.

The weapons, including four handguns, were discovered over the weekend on a property located off Snapdragon Road and Marsh Road in Geneva.

The guns were floating in some kind of acid apparently used to eat off the serial numbers, the report said.

The guns are now in the hands of sheriff's investigators.

Anyone with information about the owner of the guns is urged to call police.

Watch Local 6 News for more on this story.

Doesn't look to be in good shape, to bad they weren't Glocks.

 Genius way to remove the serial numbers, corrode the entire gun! They would have been better off with a metal file.

I would think that they were probably "used" and thrown into the acid to clean any prints and stuff off :dunno:

Out of my mind, brb never.
Probably left like that on purpose. As TLR said, they were most likely used, and they were trying to get rid of the evidence.

chances are it wasn't just the serial numbers they were after, but the ballistics patterns as well, probably had already been used in a crime

:bowrofl: at the thought of using acid on the whole gun to get rid of the serial numbers, unless it's TACTICAL acid that will only target the serial number and explode on impact :eek5:

    Jesus people are stupid :bowrofl:

Throw it in the everglades ftw?

Seriously. I cant see how anyone near a body of water or with access to everyday tools cant get rid of a gun or obliterate the serial number. Id take an angle grinder to the entire gun til it was a pile of metal shavings.
