Just curious if any brolys are doing it. I just started about a month ago. My dept doesn't have a gym, but I'm trying to get them to gym for home because these guys are like anti-broly.. I hope they get one, that'd be the shit and I could quit paying gym for not home fees.

Volly but it's all small towns around here, no paid. So far it's pretty cool.

    Still cool.

Do you have to have 20/20 vsion to be one?
Being a firefighter is the only full time gig I can see myself doing.

I wouldn't think perfect vision is even a qualification for big paid depts. Honestly to do voly around here, you don't have to do shit. Although I plan on getting all the certifications I can. I'm with you, I'm hoping my wife is going to pull a job somewhere else making really good money, in which case I'll either do full time firefighter or go to the police academy. Either would be cool.

    I wouldn't know, I'm an

For what, becoming a firefighter? Probably would depend on what the conviction(s) were for. Something big like burglary, murder or fraud, probably would get held against you if you wanted to join one of the Emergency Services. They might let the minor stuff slide though

EDIT: Looks like you may be outta luck. At least in Mississauga

Long story, but the short answer is no. I also haven't been a volunteer FF since March either, when I moved. There's no VFD's around me. :wtc:

I am still an EMT, though. I do it part-time.

I had a change in plans, too hard to get a job these days.

20/20 vision is usually required with correction, but this varies station to station. I seriously doubt they would hold a felony over 18 years ago against you

I discovered that you shouldn't put foil in the microwave. It caught fire, but I put it out quickly. So yes, I am a firefighter

Weapons dangerous when I was 17 and 2 counts of assault when I was 20 (I was working as a doorman). At 150lbs, of course you're gonna throw punches. C'est la vie.
As I said almost 18 years ago.

awww man. Don't give up that easy. Firefighting in florida is the best career.

you don't understand my situation. I don't want to be in florida as it is, I'm dying to get the hell outta here and move out to cali. I'm finishing up school for nursing and going to become an RN. Jobs are more widely available and pay is much better. As an RN you also have the opportunity to challenge the medic test, so if working in a hospital isn't for me more opportunities are opened up.
